You guys, the holidays are here!! I know I say this every year but I can’t even believe how quickly time goes. It seems like we were just here, brewing our hot chocolate and building snowmen. Once you start shopping you will find so many options for your dessert board. Simply purchase items that look good to you and match your color scheme. I promise it will all come together perfectly.

Once you have your items, let’s talk about how to present your board. I have this round board which I love, but you can use any board you have. A cutting board or a tray works great, you can even use a cookie sheet. Don’t get caught up on details, just use what you have, it will be amazing.

Building your dessert board is super simple. I like to use three bowls on my boards, it just looks nice to have an odd number. Add the three bowls and then build the board around them. Just start to place your food in groups around the bowls and spread around the board. Start with the largest items first and work your way through to the smaller items. The trick is to fill in all the spots. Don’t leave any empty spaces.

That’s it! You will have a simple and yummy dessert to serve your guests.

So naturally I needed to give it a try on cupcakes. And guess what? It is even better than I expected. These Biscoff cupcakes have quickly become a new family favorite. We find every excuse to make a batch of them.

So if you are ready for a life changing dessert, keep reading!

Biscoff Cupcake Recipe:

Aren’t they so cute? I love the way they look with a Biscoff sandwich cookie on the top, and the cookies are really good.

Here’s what you’ll need from the store.

Shopping List:

• White Cake Mix
• Large Box Vanilla Pudding
• Vegetable Oil
• Sour Cream
• Eggs
• Vanilla
• Biscoff Cookie Butter
• Biscoff Cookies (Optional)
• Powdered Sugar
• Butter
• Milk
• Cupcake Liners

Delicious Biscoff Cupcake Recipe

Ingredients

Cupcakes:

• 1 White Cake Mix
• 1 Large Box Vanilla Pudding
• 1/2 Cup Water
• 1 Cup Vegetable Oil
• 1 Cup Sour Cream
• 4 Eggs
• 1 TBSP Vanilla

Frosting:

• 3 Sticks Butter
• 1 Cup Biscoff Cookie Butter
• 4–5 Cups Powdered Sugar
• 5 Tsp. Milk

 

Instructions

Cupcakes:

• Preheat Oven 350 degrees
• With a mixer, mix all of the ingredients together until well blended
• Scoop into 24 cupcake liners, filling them 3/4 of the way full
• Bake at 350 degrees for 18 Minutes

Frosting:

• Soften butter and add to mixing bowl
• Add Biscoff Cookie Butter and milk to the bowl and mix together with butter
• Add powdered sugar to mixture one cup at a time. Mix until you have the desired consistency. I like it on the thicker side so it holds it’s shape when piped on the cupcake.
• Fill a plastic bag with frosting and cut the corner to pipe frosting on the cupcake. Make sure cupcakes are completely cooled before frosting.
• Add Biscoff cookie to the top (optional)

Pro Tips:

• The consistency of the frosting matters a lot. If it’s too thin it won’t pipe on the cupcake and hold it’s shape. Go on the thicker side.
• Make the cut in the baggie smaller to start. You can always cut more if needed. If you do too big of a slit it’s harder to control the frosting.
• Place your cookie right after you frost the cupcake. The frosting will start to set up pretty quick.
• Once your cupcakes are cooled place them in another liner for a cuter look.

If you want to simplify the process you can simply make the cake as directed on the cake mix. Adding the pudding and sour cream makes the cupcakes extra moist and so yummy.

I love all the puppy chow recipes and I think it’s so fun to find variations of the original recipe. And this birthday cake puppy chow recipe really takes the cake!

If you love cake batter, you will absolutely love this birthday cake muddy buddy recipe. It has all the yummy goodness of muddy buddies and birthday cake.

Birthday Cake Puppy Chow:

If you’ve made the traditional puppy chow recipe this one will look a little bit different, but it’s just as quick and simple. Let’s see what you’ll need.

Shopping List:

• Rice Chex Cereal
• White Chocolate Chips
• White Cake Mix
• Sprinkles
• Cupcake Bites (I found mine at Target but I found these on Amazon)

So the ingredients look different but the process is the same. Instead of using powdered sugar you’ll be using the dry cake mix. I’m such a sucker for cake batter so this recipe just makes me drool. SO GOOD!!

Birthday Cake Puppy Chow

Ingredients

• 9 Cups Rice Chex Mix
• 1 1/2 Cups White Chocolate Chips
• 1 Tsp. Vanilla
• 1 Package of Dry Cake Mix
• 1 Container of Cupcake Bites

Instructions

Pour the Rice Chex Cereal in a large bowl

Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave. Cook for 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time. You don’t want to overcook the chocolate chips because they will burn. Heat until completely smooth.

After the chocolate is melted add the vanilla. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal. Toss until the cereal is well coated.

Once the cereal is coated, pour the cake mix over the cereal. Toss until it’s well coated.

Add the cupcake bites and mix in.

And Enjoy!!

It’s seriously so simple!

Pro Tips:

• Don’t over mix your cereal when coating it with the chocolate. The cereal tends to break and you want to keep them whole, so mix gently.
• You can adjust how much chocolate or cake mix you use. If you like it completely coated do closer to 2 cups of white chocolate chips.
• You can store the puppy chow in an airtight container or Ziplock bag to keep them fresh.

Traditionally a puppy chow recipe has Chex Cereal, chocolate, peanut butter and powdered sugar. And really, what can make these ingredients even better? Adding s’more yummy stuff (see what I did there?).

I love making puppy chow for all occasions because it’s super simple and it makes a ton.

Easy S’more Puppy Chow Recipe:

Ingredients

• 9 Cups Chex Mix
• 1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
• 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
• 1 TBS Butter
• 1 tsp Vanilla
• 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
• 2 Cups Teddy Grahams
• 1 Package of Hershey Drops (or chocolate chips if you can’t find Hershey Drops)
• 2 Cups Mini Marshmallows

Instructions

Pour Chex mix into a large mixing bowl.

Pour semisweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter into a microwave safe bowl and begin to melt 30 seconds at a time. Continue to stir every 30 seconds until completely melted. Blend together until fully mixed.

Add the vanilla to chocolate mixture and stir.

Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and stir until the cereal is completely coated.

Add powdered sugar to the cereal mixture and toss/stir until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.

Add the Teddy Grahams, Hershey Drops, and Marshmallows and stir.

Notes

The chocolate can burn easily, so only cook 30 seconds at a time.

Pro Tips:

• Use plenty of powdered sugar. Really, the measurements can be varied depending on your personal preference.
• Don’t over mix. If you over mix, you run the risk of breaking the cereal…mix gently.
• Store in an airtight container.

And what’s even better, muddy buddies might just be the perfect party food. They take 10 minutes to make and the recipe makes a ton. And let’s talk about how delicious they are. Seriously so good. And this almond joy muddy buddies recipe is over the top AMAZING.

Almond Joy Muddy Buddies Recipe:

Do you love Almond Joy Candy Bars? If so, you need to try this recipe. It has everything you love about Almond Joy Bars but even better.

Let’s talk about traditional Muddy Buddies Recipes. Usually muddy buddies are made with peanut butter, chocolate, Chex cereal, and powdered sugar. Muddy buddies are cereal coated in the chocolate and peanut butter and then layered with powdered sugar to top it off.

This recipe is a bit different but just as simple. Instead of chocolate and peanut butter we simply use white chocolate and coconut extract and topped off with powdered sugar. Just so, so tasty.

• 2 Cups Almond Joy Bites
• 1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut

Melt your chocolate in a bowl in the microwave. Cook about 30 seconds at a time, then stir and continue heating. Be careful not to burn it.

Add your coconut extract and stir again to mix it in.

I’m in love with these firecracker Rice Krispie Treats…tasty and so festive. And the fact that they are adorable is just the sparkler on top!

And have I mentioned how fun they are to eat? I added Pop Rocks for some extra fun while eating them.

Seriously, these Rice Krispie Treats make the perfect patriotic dessert. They look the part with the red, white and blue plus they are perfect for large groups of people.

Patriotic Dessert:

Let’s talk about how simple these babies are to make.

Ingredients:

• Rice Krispies (6 Cups)
• Bag of Full Size Marshmallows
• Butter (1/4 Cup)
• 2 Packages of Pop Rocks (Red or Blue)
• Red Licorice Ropes
• Red and blue sprinkles (optional)
• Non Stick Spray

Let’s put these cuties together.

How to Make Firecracker Rice Krispie Treats:

• Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a microwavable bowl.
• Add 1 full package of marshmallows to melted butter and microwave for 1-2 minutes. You want the marshmallows to be puffy but don’t over cook.
• Stir together.
• Stir in 6 cups of Rice Krispies.
• Once everything is mixed, add one package of Pop Rocks to the mixture and stir. Some of the Pop Rocks will start to pop but that’s okay, plenty will still pop while you are eating them.

• Place in a 9×13 greased pan and pat down. The easiest way to get everything placed in the pan is to butter your fingertips and pat the Rice Krispies into the pan.
• Once you have the mixture flat, sprinkle the top with more Pop Rocks and red and blue sprinkles.

• Let them set up for about an hour. Once firm, cut into squares and add a piece of red licorice in the top of each square. We added a little curly cue ribbon for some added flare.

Aren’t these a perfect patriotic dessert? They will definitely be a hit for any 4th of July party.

It’s SO easy to throw together-you literally just buy all the things and throw it together. And it tastes great and looks cute too!

I’ve made this peanut buttery because…yum! Who doesn’t love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate?! There’s only one problem, once you start eating, it’s hard to stop.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Christmas Snack Mix: 

This is SO simple to make and you can totally tweak it to suit your needs. Delete an ingredient or add one of your own. You can really do anything you want, but here’s a peek at what’s in mine:

• Reese’s Puffs Cereal
• Peanut Butter M&Ms (in Christmas colors)
• Popcorn
• Peanuts
• Marshmallows
• Pretzels
• White chocolate covered pretzels
• Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup trees

I was going for a good balance of sweet and salty and of course, I wanted lots of peanut butter and chocolate.

This is also really easy to package up in a cute jar. Just add a bow and you’ve got a great neighbor gift! So easy!

Have I mentioned my obsession with donuts? Because I am definitely obsessed with all things donuts and I’m always on the lookout for something new to do with them. Well, I have found it! These easy homemade donut holes with injectable filling are certainly new and oh, so yummy!

Easy Homemade Donut Holes:

Don’t these babies look amazing!? And I think they make the perfect party food. Simple serve up a bunch of donut holes with all the options of injectable fillings and let them go crazy! How fun is that!?

And the best part is how simple these are to make! They are so quick and easy, I’m sure these donut holes will quickly become a favorite.

Easy Homemade Donut Holes With Injectable Filling

Ingredients

Donut Holes:

• Pillsbury Biscuit Dough (Or Any Brand You Love)
• Oil
• Powder Sugar

Fillings:

Your fillings will go in injectors once they are prepared. Make sure to have plenty of injectors so you can have plenty of fillings.

Choose some of your favorite fillings, here are some suggestions.

• Chocolate
• Caramel
• Bovarian Cream
• Raspberry
• Lemon Cream
• Peanut Butter
• Coconut Cream

Instructions

Donuts:

• Split each biscuit into thirds and roll them into a tight ball.
• Heat your oil in a saucepan until it starts to bubble slightly. You can test it by putting a small piece of dough in the oil and if it floats to the top, and bubbles, it’s ready.
• Cook your dough balls until the dough is dark brown. Usually 3-5 minutes. When you think they are done, tear one open and make sure it’s cooked all the way through.
• Once they are cooked, place them on a plate with a paper towel. Let cool.
• Fill a ziplock bag with 1-2 cups of powder sugar, placing the donut holes in the bag and shake until they are coated.

How to fill the donuts:

• To fill your injectors, either by pouring the filling in the top or sucking it up through the nozzle. If the filling is thick, sucking it up through the nozzle is easier.
• Once the injectors are filled, serve the donuts and injectors together and let your guest fill the donuts with any flavor they want.
• To fill the donuts, simple insert the nozzle of the injector into the middle of the donut and push the filling into the donut hole.
• Enjoy!!

• With a mixer, mix all of the ingredients together until well blended
• Scoop into 24 cupcake liners, filling them 3/4 of the way full
• Bake at 350 degrees for 18 Minutes

Peach Frosting:

• Soften Butter and add to the mixer
• Combine with Milk
• Start to add the powdered sugar. Start with 4 Cups and add until you achieve the desired thickness. (If you are piping it on the cupcakes you will want it on the thicker side)
• Add your peach extract. If it’s not quite peachy enough for you add another 1/4 tsp. of the extract.
• Fill a plastic bag and cut the corner of the bag to create a piping bag. This will save you come clean up time. Pipe the frosting on the cupcake and top with a peach ring gummy.
