So, what do you do when your oldest kiddo is turning 18? You throw a huge glow in the dark party. And let me just say…it was HUGE! Seriously guys, I let the birthday boy be in charge of the invitations and we stopped counting at 100 guests! I didn’t even know he knew that many people. You know how they say it’s not a party until the cops are called? Well, let’s just say…it was a party (he,he)!!

But really, the glow in the dark was a hit and so simple to put together. I have all the details so you can throw a really fun party of your own.

Glow in the Dark Party:

How fun does this look? I had a DIY glow stick chandelier, glow in the dark balloon arch, and lots more fun lighting to make our party pop.

I started our party planning with a trip to Amazon. Yep, almost everything I needed for this party came to our door courtesy of Amazon. It was so simple and super cost effective.

That’s everything I used for this party…other than the food.

So, can we talk about how cute this glow stick chandelier is? And seriously, it’s super simple to make. Here are all the deets.

Glow in the Dark Party Decorations:

This little cutie is super simple. And everything you need was listed above in the shopping items. But you will need a grinder, hack saw, sawzall, or anything to cut through the metal on a tomato cage.

Step #1:

Start with a tomato cage.

Step #2

Using your grinder (or whatever you are using to cut the metal), simply cut below the second tier. You want to end with two rings. You can decide what size you want. If you want your chandelier to be larger you’ll use the top two rings. If you want it to be smaller, use the bottom two.

You’ll end up with something similar to this. 

Step #3

Spray paint using black spray paint.

Step #4

Last step…simply add the glow sticks. You may want to wait until you are closer to your party time to do this last step so you can break the glow sticks and hang them. They will stay shining for lots of hours so you can do this well before your party.

The glow sticks we ordered from Amazon fit perfectly on the ring of the tomato cages.

I wanted this chandelier to shine bright for everyone to see so I placed it in the center of the room. I lined my ceiling with colorful table clothes fanning out from the center of the room. And in the center I hung the chandelier with fishing line. The fishing line worked perfectly so it wouldn’t be seen and held the weight perfectly.

I added a fun glow in the dark balloon arch over the food table. It was so fun.

Glow in the Dark Balloon Arch:

Putting a balloon arch together could not be simpler. I made this one the “old fashioned” way with tying all of the balloons on a string and scrunching them together. But I’ve also used a balloon arch kit and they make it even simpler.

For this arch I used a combination of balloons. Some glow in the dark, some LED balloons, and some regular balloons. To get a super cute balloon arch it’s best to use all shapes and sizes. The polka dotted balloons I found on Amazon were hands down my favorites. They added such a fun pattern to the arch and they glowed really well.

I hung this bad boy above my food table using more fishing line. It really made the food table come alive.

As far as the rest of the decorations, I kept it simple. I hung black table cloths on the walls so it would be darker for the glow sticks to really pop. We replaced the light bulbs in the area with blacklight bulbs, and hung some of the disco lights in the corners of the room.

I made sure to have plenty of glow sticks on hand so each guest could take as many as they wanted. The extra glow sticks were a perfect addition to the food table to add some more fun color.

I also snagged this fun sign from Amazon and hung it on an empty wall. It was the perfect place to take some selfies.

Such a fun neon party and the teens LOVED it. And I loved planning a party for my “to cool for school” 18 year old!

If you’ve ever thrown a party for a bunch of teenagers, you know how hard it can be to keep them engaged in what’s happening. That’s exactly why fun party games is a must, and I have an awesome one for you! This M&M party game is a perfect way to keep those teens entertained. I’ve played it so many times, and every time it’s a total blast!

M&M Party Game for Teens:

This is such a simple game to put together, and even very simple to play…so let’s get started. Here’s what you need to play…

Supplies Needed:

• Large Bag of M&M’s (any kind you love)
• Scoop or Spoon
• Bowl to Put the M&M’s In
• Extra clothes to put on during the game (hats, gloves, scarf, coat, ear muffs…anything that would be funny for someone to put on)
• 2 Dice

Once you have all of your supplies lined up, you are all set to play.

How to Play the M&M Game:

Objective: Get the most M&M’s scooped from the bowl.

• Put the M&M’s in a bowl and place in the center of the table, along with the extra clothes you will be using.
• Gather all of the players and stand around a table.
• Have one player start rolling 2 dice. Each player will roll the dice once and pass the dice along, giving each player a chance to roll.
• If a player rolls doubles (two of the same number) they get a chance to scoop as many M&M’s as they can. Sounds simple, right?! But before a player can start to scoop M&M’s, they need to first get all dressed up. Each player that rolls a double will quickly put on all of the items of extra clothing you have provided before they get to scoop. Keep in mind while one player is trying to get dressed and scoop M&M’s, the dice are still making their way around the table. Once another player rolls doubles, the clothing goes to that player and they get to try to get the M&M’s.
• Once a player is dressed, they may start to scoop M&M’s one at a time. The player cannot scoop more than one at a time. Each player will make a pile of their M&M’s in front of them.
• If someone else rolls doubles, the player holding the scoop must quickly pass all objects to the next player.
• Keep playing until all of the M&M’s have been scooped. (You may also set a time on this game if you prefer). The game is won by being the player with the most M&M’s in their pile at the end.
• You are ready to play!! Have FUN!

This game is so simple, which is why it’s such a blast. I promise there will be lots of laughs, and even some rowdiness. It’s a fast paced game, the teens get really invested in what’s happening.

Have you ever played this fun and simple unwrap the candy bar party game? It’s exactly what it sounds like…unwrapping a candy bar. But it wouldn’t be a funny party game if I didn’t add some extra twists to make the unwrapping a little trickier.

So let’s see just how fast your party guests can get this candy bar unwrapped and in their mouths!

Hilarious Party Game:

So, basically the objective of this game is to get a candy bar totally unwrapped and ready to eat. The tricky part is that others will be trying to get a turn to do the same.

This game really is perfect for all ages! Simple enough for kiddos but funny enough for adults and everyone in between. You will seriously get some good laughs while playing this funny party game.

Supplies:

• King Size Candy Bar- I used flat candy bars so they were easier to wrap.
• Dice
• Wrapping Paper
• Oven Mitts- And any other clothing items you want your party guests to use when it’s their turn to unwrap the candy bar.
• Knives- Plastic or butter knives…nothing sharp!

Before the party, wrap your candy bar several times in wrapping paper. The more times you wrap it, the more time it will take to unwrap it, so you can determine the length of the game. Keep in mind who’s playing…younger kiddos will need less wrapping.

How to Play the Unwrap the Candy Bar Game:

• Gather all players around a table (we usually stand).
• Have one player start rolling 2 dice. Each player will roll the dice once and pass the dice along, giving each player a chance to roll.
• If a player rolls doubles (two of the same number) they get a chance to unwrap the candy bar. They need to first put on two oven mitts (one on each hand) and any other item of extra clothing. We’ve played with scarves, hats, ear muffs, rain boots…the idea is that the player will be trying to hurry to get started unwrapping the candy bar and the clothing will slow them down a bit. Keep in mind while one player is trying to get dressed and unwrap the candy bar the dice are still making their way around the table. Once another player rolls doubles, the clothing goes to that player and they get to try to get the candy bar unwrapped.
• Once a player is dressed, they may try to unwrap the candy bar with two knives. Player may not use anything other than knives to touch the candy bar.
• If someone else rolls doubles, the player holding the knives and has the candy bar must quickly pass all objects to the next player.
• The game is won by being the player who unwraps the last of the packaging completely from the candy bar.
• When deciding how hard to make this game, just let ages of the players determine your choices. If you are playing this as a family game with multiple ages, you can have the rules different for each age group playing. Maybe the younger kids only need mittens on their hands, while teens and adults have more clothing to put on!

Have you ever played minute to win it games? They are fast moving games, typically played in a minute or less. They are also very social games with lots of interactions, making them a perfect party game for teenagers.

How to play Minute to Win it Games:

Now you know how to play, let’s show you the party games!

You can play any of these games one at a time, letting each player take their turn. Or you can play these in groups, letting more than one person play at a time. The supplies listed for each game is for one person. You can decide what works best for your party!

The Breakfast Scramble Minute to Win it Game:

Supplies Needed:

• Cereal Boxes: For this game you will need several cereal boxes, cut into puzzle pieces. Simply cut the front of a cereal box into 16 equal pieces. Once you one box cut, put it into a plastic bag to keep the pieces together.

Instructions:

• Give each player or team one bag of the puzzle pieces.
• When you say go, they must assemble the puzzle as quickly as possible. You can have them racing the clock, giving them one minute to finish, or you can have them race each other.

Paper Dragon Minute to Win it Game:

Supplies Needed:

• 2 Rolls of Party Streamers

Instructions:

• Player must unroll 2 rolls of party streamers using only their hands and arms.
• Set the streamer rolls at the player’s feet with the player holding one end of one streamer roll in each hand.
• When the clock starts, the player may begin unspooling the streamers. Player may not kick, throw, or grab the spool directly.
• If the spool breaks, the player may pick up the end and continue
• To complete this game, both rolls of streamers much be unrolled and off the ground within 60 seconds.

Minute to Win it Games:

Supplies Needed:

• 40 Plastic Cups-one either a different color, or simply write on one cup the word “done.”

Instructions:

• Player must hold a stack of cups with the one that’s marked “done” at the bottom. Player must move 1 cup at a time from the top to the bottom of the stack, trying to cycle the “done” cup back to the bottom of the stack.
• Set up the stack of 40 cups with the “done” one of the bottom.
• When the clock starts, the player may grab a single cup from the top of the stack and place it on the bottom of the stack.
• Player must use 1 hand to grab each cup, and must alternate hands with each cup.
• If more than 1 cup is removed at a time, player must place all cups that are outside the stack back at the top of the stack before continuing.
• Player must play the game from a standing position.
• To complete the game, the “done” cup must be placed on the bottom of the stack after traveling through the stack of cups. This must be completed within 60 seconds.
• To score, you can decide if you want to give one point per cup that is moved. Or just points for a win.

Penny Hose Minute to Win it Game:

Supplies Needed:

• 1 Pair of Pantyhose
• 2 Pennies
• Table

Instructions:

• Player must remove one penny from each leg of a pair of pantyhose using only their hands.
• Start by placing one penny in the bottom of each leg of the pantyhose. Player begins with his or her wrists inside each leg of the pantyhose at the top of the leg part.
• When the clock starts, player may use only their hands and arms to attempt to grab the pennies.
• Pantyhose cannot touch anything else.
• If the penny touches the floor the game is over.
• To complete this game, player must get both pennies out of the pantyhose with his or her hands and place them on the table within the 60 second time limit.

Junk in the Trunk Minute to Win it Game:

Supplies Needed:

• 8 Ping-pong Balls
• 1 Empty Tissue Box
• 1 Belt

Instructions:

• Wiggle a box that is attached to your waist filled with ping-pong balls until the box is empty.
• Fill the tissue box with ping-pong balls, then attach tissue box to the back of belt. Put on the belt with a tissue box sitting at the small of your back.
• When the clock starts, player may begin moving body to shake the ping-pong balls out.
• Player’s hands or arm may not touch the box or belt.
• Player may only touch the floor with his or her feet.
• To complete the game, player must get all 8 ping-pong balls out of the box within 60 seconds.

Mega Bubble:

Supplies Needed:

• 1 Hula Hoop
• 1 Bottle of Bubbles
• Start Line

Instructions:

• Player must blow a bubble through a hoop 15′ away.
• When the clock starts, player may grab a bubble wand and begin blowing bubbles from behind start line, 15′ from hoop.
• Player may only use breath to propel bubble.
• Player may not touch the end hoop.
• To complete the game, an un-popped bubble must be created behind the foul line, then blown through the end hoop within 60 seconds.

A Bit Dicey Minute to Win It Game:

Supplies Needed:

• Popsicle Stick
• 6 Dice (you can also use Starbursts for this game)

Instructions:

• Balance six dice (or Starbursts) on a popsicle stick held in your mouth.
• Prior to the game, player places a single popsicle stick in his/her mouth.
• When the clock starts, player will pick up and vertically stack one die at a time on the stick.
• Player may not allow dice to rest against their nose or to touch any part of their face.
• In the event that a die is dropped or falls off of the stick, player may take a replacement die off of the podium and use it in its place.
• To complete the game, 6 dice (or Starbursts) must be stacked one on top of the other on the popsicle stick within 60 seconds.

Bobble Head Minute to Win It Game:

Supplies Needed:

• 1 Pedometer Attached to a Headband

Instructions:

• With a pedometer attached to the forehead, move the head around to record 125 total “steps” in one minute.
• After the headband/pedometer is on the head, the device is set to zero in steps mode.
• When the clock starts, player may begin moving head without touching the pedometer to register “steps”.
• If the pedometer moves, the player may stop motion to prevent it from falling off, re-adjust the headband, then continue.
• To complete the game, player must record 125 steps within 60 seconds.

Defying Gravity:

Supplies Needed:

• 3 Balloons (Inflated)

Instructions:

• Tap 3 balloons to keep them off the ground for a minute.
• When the clock starts, player releases all 3 balloons into the air.
• Player may not hold balloons, allow them to rest on the body, or hit the ground…if they do the game is over.
• To complete the game, player must keep all balloons off the ground for 60 seconds.

Have you ever played minute to win it games? These party games seem to be everywhere because they are so simple to put together, and are a blast to play. I have played them at all kinds of parties, and every time my guests love them!

I have lots of different ideas for you today, I’m sure you will find tons of ideas you’ll love.

Before I dive into the actual game ideas, lets’ talk about the basics.

How to play Minute to Win It Games:

• The basic idea is that each of the games you play will be timed for one minute, so these are quick moving party games. If you have players competing against each other, you can forgo the timing and let them race each other. Usually, you will play a series of games, keeping a tally of points you assign to each game.
• These games can be played individually, in pairs, or groups. It really just depends on the game being played on how is best to split it up. Again, just give each game a point value and each person in the winning group the points.
• Many of the minute to win it games we have are themed games. Meaning they are specific to a special function such as a baby shower or they are geared to a specific theme. But when you read through the games, realize you can change any of the ideas to fit your party with a few adjustments. They are super simple to adjust, rename, or slightly change.
• These fun party games can be played at any age. If you are dealing with younger kiddos I have lots of fun games they can play. The adults will have a blast playing any of these games. Seriously, minute to win it games are fun and funny…just give them a try.

It feels like I’m surrounded by all things football. I both have some cute football lovin’ kiddos and they have plenty of football obsessed friends, which means I have a lot of football at my house. So when it comes to parties it’s not hard to guess what the theme will be!

This party was inspired by my sister, who was planning a party for her football loving son. Usually all these kids want is to play a game of football, but here in Utah the weather doesn’t always cooperate. So, I needed a solid game plan to entertain these crazy kiddos during the party and these fun football minute to win it party games were perfect!

Football Minute to Win It Party Games:

These football minute to win it party games are so simple to put together and so much fun to play, your party guests will love them. They are all minute to win it style games, meaning they are played as quickly as possible. They are so quick, you can get through a lot of games in a short amount of time. My nephew played all these games at his birthday party with plenty of time for a game of football and plenty of eating time.

So, let’s break this down game by game. Here’s what you’ll need for all of the games.

Shopping List: (I found most of these items at our dollar store)

• Sandwich Cookies (6 for each guest)
• Cotton Balls
• Vaseline
• Small Bowls (I found some cute football shaped bowls that were perfect)
• Toilet Paper
• Blindfolds (I used bandanas)
• Alphabet Cookies
• Small Footballs

Minute to Win It Games for Kids:

The Receiver “Nose”-

For this game you will use the cotton balls, vaseline, and small bowls. To play this game, put a pile of cotton balls in one bowl and place it at the end of a table and an empty bowl on the other side of the table. Each player will put Vaseline on their nose and move the cotton balls from one bowl to other bowl using only their nose. Time each player for 60 seconds and the person who moves the most cotton balls wins the game.

Pick 6-

Give each player 6 cookies. When you say “go” each player will attempt to stack the cookies on their forehead. The player who stacks 6 cookies the quickest, wins the game.

I promise, it’s harder than it sounds!

The Concussion:

This game will just need a roll of toilet paper. Split the kiddos up in teams of three. To play, two kids will hold the roll of toilet paper and one child will wrap it around himself by turning as quickly as possible. The first one done with the roll of toilet paper wins.

Just make sure the kiddos won’t run into anything while they are dizzy!

Minute to Win It:

The Game Plan:

To prepare for this game, split the cookies up evenly in baggies. Split the kids up in teams and give each of them a baggie of cookies. Set the timer for 1-3 minutes (depending on how quick you think the kids can come up with words). The teams need to spell as many words as possible in the time allotted. If they can spell football words they are worth double. The team that spells the most words (counting double for football words) wins.

You may want to make sure each bag of cookies has enough vowels so the kiddos can make some fun words.

Blind Quarterback:

Split the kids up in teams of 2, with one of them blindfolded. The player who is blindfolded (the quarterback) will throw the ball to his receiver. The catch is that the receiver can’t move, he will only be able to call out to the quarterback 3 times giving the quarterback an idea where he is. Time the players for one minute, the team that catches the ball the most times in that minute wins the game.

Field Goal:

Each child will have one cookie. When you say “go”, they will place the cookie on their forehead and try to move it without hands to their mouths. The first one who gets the cookie to their mouth wins.

If the cookie falls, the player is allowed to pick it up and place it back on their forehead. They can keep trying until someone wins.

Seriously, these games are a blast to play!

My middle kiddo just turned 13 (in case you are keeping track, that’s two teens at my house) and I had a blast throwing this Fortnite birthday party for him.

This year was a family party year for him-I alternate every other year between friends and family parties-and this Fortnite party was so perfect! We invited all of the cousins, aunts and uncles to come play and eat Fortnite style with us. And as always, we kept things super simple.

Fortnite Birthday Party:

So, I have all the things you will need to put together your own fun and simple Fortnite party. Your Fortnite lovin’ kiddos will love all of these fun details.

Birthday Party Food:

Parties are all about the yummy food, and we kept it simple and on point with Fortnite!

Chocolate Zingers doubled as lumber for a fun and punny treat. And these were the first treat to disappear.

Every Fortnite party needs to have slurp juice on hand, and this slurp juice was really fun. I used blue Gatorade and Lemon-Lime Kool-Aid to achieve the subtle layered look. When you are making a layered drink you need to make the bottom layer heavier than the top. I added Karo Syrup to the Kool-Aid to make sure it would be more dense.

Add the bottom layer to your container, then fill with ice. The juice will stay separated better when it’s cold. Slowly pour the blue Gatorade over the top, trying not to mix the layers. Your slurp juice will be perfection!

These V-Bucks were another hit for his party. I used sugar cookies, frosted with blue frosting and finished with white “V’s.” After all, you can’t do much at a Fortnite party without V-Bucks!

And because no party is complete without cupcakes, we included these fun cupcake toppers to make your cupcakes Fortnite perfections. I simply ordered these cupcakes from my local bakery in the color scheme I wanted, and added these toppers. They were so cute on the table, and a tasty addition.

I had scheduled our party to go for two hours, and well into hour 3 I finally had to call the party done. But people were still wanting to stay and play! I promise, this game is a huge hit! I have three boys at my house who all seem obsessed with the game Fortnite! They love playing, doing the dances, talking about the changes, and even watching other people play! They LOVE Fortnite! So, it seemed like a natural fit to put together this super fun Fortnite Party Game to play at one of my son’s birthday party. It is really simple to put together, and I promise, it is such a fun time!

Fortnite Party Game:

We had a blast playing this super simple Fortnite party game. It’s a fun mix of Fortnite and Nerf Gun Battles…such a perfect combination.

Let’s learn how to play.

What you will need:

Affiliate Links

• Nerf Guns & Bullets
• Safety Glasses
• Barriers to Hide Behind-(we used cardboard boxes stacked)
• 2-3 Treasure Chests-filled with bandages (representing extra lives), guns and bullets
• Port-A-Fort with Printable Tag

You will also need to decide where you are playing. You can play anywhere you don’t mind shooting Nerf Guns and having Nerf bullets flying around. We had access to our church building and that worked perfectly.

How to Play:

• To set up the round, you will hide (but not too hard) your treasure chest throughout the gaming area. You will also scatter guns, bandages, and bullets throughout the area.

• Each player will decide where they want to “drop in” and that’s where they will start the game. You can let the players play in squads, duos, or play solitary. Or try all the ways!
• Each player will have 90 second after the game has started to gather their equipment needed to play the game. They may select up to two guns (or as many as you have provided) and any other items they find. Once the 90 seconds is done, the “eye of the storm” will shrink bringing everyone to the gaming area. This the area you want the battle to be played.
• In the gaming field, you will have set up an area that the players can battle. I used cardboard boxes and stacked them, forming barrier to hide behind. I also provided a Port-A-Fort for the team that found the Port-A-Fort tag (ready for you to print at the end of this post). This gives an advantage to the team that gets it, because it provides more cover. I made our Port-A-Fort out of a large cardboard box, but you can create any area that offers better defenses for a team. If you want to spice things up, you can create the different lands found in the Fortnite game. Have fun and be creative when designing your arena. But as always, it doesn’t need to be complicated to be amazing!

• Once the players are in the arena, they battle it out. It’s best to use a “referee” to keep things fair. Also, make sure each player has their safety glasses on while playing. Trust me, it’s no fun getting shot with a Nerf bullet in the eye…I still have a black spot on one of my eyes! We also create the rule that no “head shots” are allowed. We don’t want people being hit in their faces or heads. The idea is to have fun, not to get hurt!!
• The game ends when the last player remains, or the last squad. Keep in mind, that a player who found a bandage at the beginning may turn it in for an extra life.
• When the game is completed…repeat!! While the kiddos are waiting for the items to be scattered around for another round, they can compete in a Fortnite dance off. Any child that plays Fortnite is sure to have some of the dances mastered!

Birthday cakes were in a big deal in my house growing up.

I remember mom in the kitchen with all her baking tools scattered around her working for hours to make the perfect cake.

She’d cut paper patterns, make homemade frosting, pipe words or pictures, whatever it was that the cake needed to be a dream cake for each of her kids on their special day, year after year (and she had five kids!).

Strawberry Shortcake’s cute face graced my cake one year, ballet slippers for the year I loved ballet and even shaped cakes, like two little ladybugs the year I turned two.

And those cakes stick in my memory. In fact, they are so much a part of me that I’ve spent many hours creating fun cakes for my own kids on their birthdays too.

Now, baking cakes may not be your thing, but little birthday traditions that you do with your kids year after year-these things matter! Your kids will remember them and treasure those memories. And likely they will pass them on to their own kids.

So, to help you out, today let’s talk about some fun birthday celebration ideas or traditions that you could start with your own kids this year!

Plus, it’s just fun to spoil your little one on their birthday, isn’t it? I love to see my kids feeling loved and special on their big day!

While my mom’s cake making tradition was a bit involved, these fun kid’s birthday celebration ideas don’t have to be hard.

Kid’s Birthday Celebration Ideas:

Here are a bunch of simple kid’s birthday ideas that you could start this year. Or change it up year after year if that’s more your style. Whatever you do, your kids are going to love it, so pick one, pick a bunch, but have a fun day celebrating your kiddo! (Some affiliate links below.)

Breakfast with Dad: When I was little my dad always took us to breakfast on our birthdays, so this is one we chose to carry down in my family. On the big day (or occasionally a day near it if the big day is too busy), Dad takes the birthday boy out for breakfast. It’s a great time to talk and start the day off with a bang!

Decorate Their Door: A super fun way to surprise the birthday kid on their big day is to have their door decorated when they wake up. Hang streamers or balloons from their doorway as a fun surprise that they will see first thing when they wake up!

Decorate the House: Along these same lines, you can do a lot of fun things with decorating the house for their birthday as well. Whether you fill their room with balloons, hang up handmade signs or put up some streamers, the decorating makes it feel more festive.

How You Give Presents: Having a fun tradition around how you give presents can add excitement to the day. Sometimes I’ve had the kids have to find their presents with a fun scavenger hunt around the house. When I was a kid we had to make a wish for the giver of each present. Shake things up a little with the present giving!

Make a Donut Cake or Donut Bouquet: Nothing says “Happy Birthday” quite like donuts, right?! Whether it’s for breakfast or as a fun treat that night, a donut cake filled with candles or a fun donut bouquet is a great way to celebrate!

Choose Dinner/Special Plate: An easy way to make the evening fun is by letting the birthday kid pick their favorite dinner. Maybe this means you’re cooking or maybe this means going out-whatever works for your family and the birthday kid! If you’re staying home, a super fun way to make dinner special is with a cute birthday plate that the birthday kid gets to use yearly on their big day.

Treat Hunt: Tie a string the birthday kid’s bedroom door. When they wake up they have to follow that string around the house and find little treats or presents along the way!

Candy Cake or Wreath: Everyone loves candy, right?! Want to give your kid a really fun surprise, make them a candy cake or candy wreath and watch their eyes light up!

Annual Birthday Interview: The kids change so much from year to year. A fun way to capture what they are like each year is by doing a simple and fun interview with them on their birthday or near it each year. Then you can look back on past interviews and enjoy the changes. Here’s a fun birthday interview template to print.

Say What You Love: One of my favorite traditions that we do in our family is so simple! At dinner on the night of our birthday boy’s big day, we go around the table and say something we love about that person. This brings such good feelings to everyone participating!

Favorite Treat: Birthdays have to involve treats, right? Whether it’s the traditional birthday cake or something different, it’s fun to have your favorite treat on your birthday. This dessert waffle sundae is a fun twist on a cake if you want to shake things up. If it’s my birthday I pick a pizookie. What does your little one love?! We’ve done all kinds of things in our family over the years from parfaits to brownies, giant cookies to freak shakes. The sky is the limit on birthdays!

Write a Message: Whether it’s in dry erase on the bathroom mirror, a sign on a poster hung in the kitchen or you want to go big and write it on your car, a fun Happy Birthday message that they will see several times that day will bring a smile to their face!
