Candy Bar Game:
Have you ever played this game? Let’s talk about how to play this super fun party game.
What you’ll need: You can do this game with only candy bars, or you can add other items to the pile. Either way, it’s going to be a blast!
- Paper Sack
- Candy Bars (We do the snack size)
- Dice (2-4 sets, depending on how many players you have)
If you choose to add more items to the game here are some ideas.
- Glow Sticks
- Small Toys
- Bouncy Balls
Start by giving each player a lunch sack and have them put their name on it. Place all of your items in the center of the table and have each player surround the table with their bag in front of them. You will want at least two sets of dice, but you can use more if you have a lot of players. You want to be able to keep the game moving so the players don’t wait too long between rolls.
To play the game, each player takes their turn rolling two dice. A “win” is when a player rolls any double on the dice (two of the same number). When a player “wins” they get to choose a candy bar from the center of the table, placing it in their bag.
Continue playing in this manner until all of the items in the center of the table are gone. At this point you may end the game and let the players take their prizes, or you may continue playing for 2 more minutes. But this time when a double is rolled, a player chooses a prize from one of the other players bags. You can decide what works best for your group.
That’s it! We promised it would be fun and simple!
Have FUN playing this fun candy bar game.

Hi, I am from Denmark, and we have played this game At Christmas since I was a little girl. ( I am 67 now ). However we Play it a little different, we have two dices, and if you get a 6 you can take 1 package if you get 2 six, take two packages. Every person bring 5 gifts and it can be all kinds of things nice wrapped in nice paper but inside can be surprising things like fun things from the dollar shop or cheap things from the supermarket. Use your fantasy. Everybody want the heaviest ore the prettiest gift and the second play where you can “steal” a package from one of the others is so so much fun.
Wish you all a Merry Christmas from Jane Schmidt, Denmark.
Love your game. We all like wrapping gifts and receiving even if from the dollar store. Have a great new year. From Texas
I played this game with my grandmother. She was from Germany!! Everyone DOES want the heaviest gift!! One year it was a can of slimfast.. another a can of motor oil!!!
Such a fun variation! Love the can of Slimfast! 🙂
when do you actually open the wrapped package right away ,?

Our family play a similar game but the gifts are wrapped in up in paper a to the theme of the party., ie – Christmas, Birthday etc. then the individual gifts are wrapped into a ball using plastic wrap. the person who throws a 6 with the dice gets their turn to unwrap the ball and if they get a gift they keep it. Total fun!
I love that game too. I’ve made something similar to that for a Halloween game…the ball is a mummy. Super cute and fun.
