Let’s start at the beginning…what do you call these? Do you know them as muddy buddies or puppy chow? I’ve heard it both ways, I think it just comes down to preference. But no matter what you call them, they are so delicious.

Because this recipe is a variation of a traditional muddy buddy recipe the shopping list looks a bit different.

• Rice Chex Mix Cereal
• White Chocolate Chips
• Powdered Sugar
• Coconut Extract
• Mini Marshmallows

The recipe is just as simple as the original recipe and so yummy.

Coconut Muddy Buddies

Ingredients

• 9 Cups Chex Cereal
• 2 Cups White Chocolate Chips
• 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
• 1–2 Tsp. Coconut Extract (or to taste)
• 2 Cups Mini Marshmallows
• Coconut Flakes as Desired

Instructions

Pour Chex cereal in a large bowl.

Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat them for 30 seconds at a time and then stir. Don’t overcook the chocolate. Heat until completely smooth.

Add coconut extract to the melted chocolate and stir.

Pour over Chex cereal and stir until coated.

Add powdered sugar and mix until completely coated.

Add coconut flakes, extra white chocolate chips and marshmallows as desired.

Pro Tips:

• Don’t over mix. The more you mix the more the cereal breaks, so mix carefully.
• You can add more coconut extract if you want a stronger coconut flavor. I usually like a lot of coconut flavoring in mine so I do extra.
• Be careful when heating the chocolate to not to heat it too long. Keep it short and then stir for best result.
• You can store these in an airtight container or Ziplock baggie for storage.

This recipe makes a large amount so it’s perfect for parties or family gatherings. It’s really a perfect treat.

I love all the puppy chow recipes and I think it’s so fun to find variations of the original recipe. And this birthday cake puppy chow recipe really takes the cake!

If you love cake batter, you will absolutely love this birthday cake muddy buddy recipe. It has all the yummy goodness of muddy buddies and birthday cake.

Birthday Cake Puppy Chow:

If you’ve made the traditional puppy chow recipe this one will look a little bit different, but it’s just as quick and simple. Let’s see what you’ll need.

Shopping List:

• Rice Chex Cereal
• White Chocolate Chips
• White Cake Mix
• Sprinkles
• Cupcake Bites (I found mine at Target but I found these on Amazon)

So the ingredients look different but the process is the same. Instead of using powdered sugar you’ll be using the dry cake mix. I’m such a sucker for cake batter so this recipe just makes me drool. SO GOOD!!

Ingredients

• 9 Cups Rice Chex Mix
• 1 1/2 Cups White Chocolate Chips
• 1 Tsp. Vanilla
• 1 Package of Dry Cake Mix
• 1 Container of Cupcake Bites

Instructions

Pour the Rice Chex Cereal in a large bowl

Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave. Cook for 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time. You don’t want to overcook the chocolate chips because they will burn. Heat until completely smooth.

After the chocolate is melted add the vanilla. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal. Toss until the cereal is well coated.

Once the cereal is coated, pour the cake mix over the cereal. Toss until it’s well coated.

Add the cupcake bites and mix in.

And Enjoy!!

It’s seriously so simple!

Pro Tips:

• Don’t over mix your cereal when coating it with the chocolate. The cereal tends to break and you want to keep them whole, so mix gently.
• You can adjust how much chocolate or cake mix you use. If you like it completely coated do closer to 2 cups of white chocolate chips.
• You can store the puppy chow in an airtight container or Ziplock bag to keep them fresh.

Easy S’mores Puppy Chow Recipe

Ingredients

• 9 Cups Chex Mix
• 1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
• 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
• 1 TBS Butter
• 1 tsp Vanilla
• 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
• 2 Cups Teddy Grahams
• 1 Package of Hershey Drops (or chocolate chips if you can’t find Hershey Drops)
• 2 Cups Mini Marshmallows

Instructions

Pour Chex mix into a large mixing bowl.

Pour semisweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter into a microwave safe bowl and begin to melt 30 seconds at a time. Continue to stir every 30 seconds until completely melted. Blend together until fully mixed.

Add the vanilla to chocolate mixture and stir.

Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and stir until the cereal is completely coated.

Add powdered sugar to the cereal mixture and toss/stir until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.

Add the Teddy Grahams, Hershey Drops, and Marshmallows and stir.

Notes

The chocolate can burn easily, so only cook 30 seconds at a time.

Pro Tips:

• Use plenty of powdered sugar. Really, the measurements can be varied depending on your personal preference.
• Don’t over mix. If you over mix, you run the risk of breaking the cereal…mix gently.
• Store in an airtight container.

To say my kiddos love popcorn would be huge understatement! They LOVE popcorn. It’s really our go-to treat so naturally this popcorn bar was a huge hit. And the best part? It’s so simple to put together and looks amazing, making it perfect for any type of gathering. From a family movie night to a big party…this popcorn bar aims to please.

How cute is this DIY popcorn bar? And seriously guys, it’s soooo tasty. I wanted to spice up a family movie night so I decided to put together this fun popcorn bar and it was a huge hit. Everyone absolutely loved it and kept going back for different combos.

Here’s a shopping list to get things started. Buy whatever you think sounds good with popcorn, but here are some possibilities. Remember to plan for sweet and savory so you have something for everyone.

I had these cute popcorn bowls for my guests to build their perfect bowl of popcorn. But if you don’t have bowls, paper sacks work great. Simply fold down the edges and they will work perfectly.

It’s SO easy to throw together-you literally just buy all the things and throw it together. And it tastes great and looks cute too!

I’ve made this peanut buttery because…yum! Who doesn’t love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate?! There’s only one problem, once you start eating, it’s hard to stop.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Christmas Snack Mix: 

This is SO simple to make and you can totally tweak it to suit your needs. Delete an ingredient or add one of your own. You can really do anything you want, but here’s a peek at what’s in mine:

• Peanut Butter M&Ms (in Christmas colors)

• Peanuts
• Marshmallows

When I pick up my kids after school on my work days, the first thing they ask if I have anything yummy for them to eat! They know that on good days when I’m working on some sort of fun treat and they get to be the lucky recipients when I’m done.

This Bunny Bait (and all the snack mixes I have created) was a huge favorite with my boys. Little do they know that it’s super easy to pull together. But it tastes great! (I have to admit to eating a lot of it while I’m taking the pictures.) It will make a perfect Spring or Easter snack for a party or just for an after school snack for your kids.

Bunny Bait Snack Mix Recipe:

Here’s how I made my bunny bait Easter snack mix.

Ingredients: 

• Pretzels (some of them chocolate covered)
• Popcorn
• Cadbury Mini Eggs
• Bunny Crackers
• Colored Marshmallows
• Nuts

That’s what I included, but you can include other things.

My biggest goal was to include a good combination of sweet and salty. And to add fun pastel colored snacks to give it that fun Springy feel.

If you want to do some chocolate covered pretzels, just pick a pastel melting chocolate. (I got mine at the craft store.) Melt it and dip. I thought it was cute to do half the pretzel.

Now you could package it up cute and give it as a little gift. Or put it in a cute bowl and serve it at a party!

So cute right! (I couldn’t resist these bowls when we found them in the dollar spot at Target!)

A Peek at the Fun: Are you looking for winning game day snacks?  I have a simple and delicious football party mix for you.  Your guest will all be winners with this amazing snack.

It’s almost time for the big game, and that means one thing…food! I love to have plenty of snacks on hand so I can cheer and snack my way through every play of the day.  Because I actually want to watch the game and socialize with our guests, I’m always on the lookout for simple game day snacks.  This snack mix will be the winning element to your party, so simple and so tasty.

Game Day Snacks:

I have the winning combination with this snack mix and have included all of your favorites to create the ultimate game day snack mix and make your football party a success!

Shopping List:

• Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels
• Emerald® Nuts
• Pop Secret® Popcorn
• Football Shaped Chocolate Candy
• Mini Sized Candy Bars
• Marshmallows
• Green Melting Chocolate
• White Melting Choclate
• Cute Bags to Put it in (I Used Black and White Striped)

Instructions:

Let’s start making this yummy snack mix.  Start by melting your green chocolate in the microwave or by using a double boiler.  Once it’s completely melted, dip your Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels in the melted chocolate using a fork to lift them out once they are completely covered.

Place the covered pretzels on a cookie sheet to dry.  Now melt your white melting chocolate in the microwave or double boiler until completely melted.  Once it’s melted, drizzle across your green pretzels using a spoon.

Let them dry, and remove from the pan using a metal spatula.

Once your pretzels are done and dry, you are ready to make your snack mix.  It’s as easy as putting all of your ingredients in a bowl and mixing it together.  The hardest part of this whole process will be trying not to eat the whole bowl before your guests show up!!

Football Party Favors:

If you are looking for a fun way to serve this yummy snack mix we have you covered.  I used the black and white striped bags, bakers twine and the printable tag (see below) to create a simple and fun football party favor.  These can be used during the game, or let your guests fill their bags on their way out for a yummy treat to be eaten later.

My kitchen seems to have a revolving door on it during the summer. It’s a never ending flow of hungry kids grabbing handfuls of goldfish crackers, unwrapping sticky granola bars and dripping popsicle trails across the floor. They never seem satisfied.

Feed the kids! It’s a relentless job for moms during the summer.

But if we can keep everyone fed, it seems like the day goes more smoothly. Less fighting, less whining, and maybe even a few less hangry moments from mom.

And what beats a handful of marshmallows, peanut buttery goodness and a salty crunch?  This Peanut Butter S’mores snack mix is likely to be gobbled up pretty quickly-but it will also keep those tummies full!
