With the new year, and probably like a lot of you, I’ve been trying to rein in the eating a little and choose to eat more healthy (ie. less treats). But being a chocoholic, this is hard! So when I woke up in the middle of the night two nights in a row craving chocolate and dreaming of a chocolate bouquet, I knew I better make it a reality.

And I figure many of you are like me and I’d WAY rather get a chocolate flower bouquet for Valentine’s Day than real flowers. So if you’re like me, send your Valentine our way and see if he can pull of making a handmade chocolate bouquet. It’s not hard! Or make one for someone you love.

Happiness right there people. Complete and utter happiness. And you can put anything you want on this-there are lots of chocolate bouquet ideas you can use to make it perfect for the one you love. Here’s a look at how I did mine.

Handmade Chocolate Bouquet:

Basically, you just need a lot of chocolate to make this. You can make this chocolate flower bouquet as full as you want. Go completely over the top or keep it a little smaller. Whatever you want and whatever you think our recipient will want.

Supplies Needed for Chocolate Flower Bouquet:

• Skewer Sticks
• Tissue Paper
• Ribbon for a Bow
• Candy Bars
• Donuts
• Snack Cakes
• Donut Holes
• Cupcakes

You can see from my picture that I used a combination of things. I included Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls and Chocolate Hearts, some candy bars and Lindt chocolates.

To make this handmade chocolate bouquet simply skewer your chocolate with the sticks. I did several of each thing on each stick. When you have as many as you want, put them all together in a bouquet and wrap them with tissue paper. Then tie a bow and you’ve just created the perfect present.

I hope by now you know one thing about me…I love chocolate. Whether you are planning a romantic dinner for two or sharing Valentine’s night with the kiddos, this Valentine’s chocolate bowl is a must try.  Let me show you how to make a chocolate bowl, then fill it with a yummy chocolate mousse and make it festive for a holiday or special occasion. I love the way this turned out for Valentine’s day, and most importantly, it tasted amazing.

Aren’t these so adorable?  I filled these bowls with chocolate mousse and topped them with whipped cream and sprinkles.  I can’t think of a better combination.

How to Make a Chocolate Bowl:

Let’s walk you through how to make a chocolate bowl and then talk about how cute it can look for Valentine’s Day!

Supplies:

• Balloons (make sure you buy sturdy balloons so they can hold up the some heat)
• Pink Melting Chocolate
• Sprinkles
• Chocolate Mousse (I used the Dream Whip mousse recipe)
• Whipped Cream

Chocolate Balloon Bowls Tutorial:

• Blow up a balloon to a softball size.

• Melt chocolate in the microwave, making sure it’s not too hot or it will pop your balloon.
• Dip the balloon in the chocolate about half way. This will be the size of your cup, so just decide how deep you want it.

• Sprinkle before the chocolate dries.

• Let the chocolate dry completely.

• Pop the balloon and let it pull away from the sides of the chocolate.  If the balloon doesn’t naturally release from the chocolate, carefully work the balloon away from the sides.

Chocolate Balloon Bowls Valentine’s Dessert:

Now that you’ve got the chocolate bowls made, make them festive and fun for Valentine’s Day! They really will make a fun treat for that night whether it’s for your kids or your hubby or yourself…

Here’s how.

Make Your Mousse: 

I like to keep things simple, so I used Dream Whip to create this. The other option we love is making chocolate pudding and adding cool whip to it.

Fill with mousse and top with whip cream and sprinkles!  Keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Some women might want diamonds or flowers for Valentine’s Day or they might want to be showered with gifts from their man as he shows his love. I just want food. And if it involves chocolate, all the better! Who’s with me!?

Whatever you have planned for Valentine’s Day (or your anniversary or another special occasion), I really, really hope it involves food, and more specifically, I hope it involves dessert! These layered parfaits are made in a wine glass to look extra pretty and are the perfect romantic desserts for special nights. It’s pretty, yummy and best of all, super simple to make!

Isn’t that pretty?! And probably a little different than your normal day to day dessert, making these the perfect romantic desserts for special days.

Romantic Desserts for Valentine’s Day:

Let’s make these!

Supplies:

• Chocolate Mousse (I made this with Dream Whip (affiliate link) using the recipe on the box)
• Whipped Cream
• Angel Food Cake (diced)
• Strawberries (diced)
• Glassware (got mine at the dollar store)
• Ribbon

How to Assemble:

• I started with a layer of chocolate mousse, spooning it into the glass.  Choose a glass that has a wide enough opening that you can get the food in the cup.  Be careful to not touch the edges of the glass, this will keep it looking amazing.
• Then add a layer of whip cream.
• Add in the diced strawberries and angel food cake.
• Spoon in another layer of the chocolate mousse.
• Top with a spoonful of whip cream, strawberries, and crumbled angel food cake.
• I tied a ribbon around the stem of the glass, holding it in place with a piece of tape on the back.

You can keep these in the refrigerator ahead of time until you are ready to serve! A perfect dessert for a romantic night!
