Last year for my 40th birthday, my friend, (Hi Debbie!) gave me the CUTEST gift! She folded up dollar bills and colorful paper to look like flowers and butterflies and put together the cutest money bouquet filled with 40 $1 bills!

It was a perfect gift for a 40th birthday and I thought it would be a cute gift for other occasions too like graduation, a bridal shower or even Christmas!

This was actually way easier to make than it looks and it turned out so cute!

So today I’d love to show you how to make a money bouquet because these are such a fun gift idea!

How to Make a Money Tree:

The first thing to know is that while this is pretty easy to make, it will take a little time, so pull up a good show and start folding!

Here’s what you’ll need to get started.

Supplies Needed:

• Dollar bills (in any denomination and however many you want. Each flower uses 3 bills, each butterfly takes 2 and I did about 6 of each each for this bouquet.
• Scrapbook paper
• Skewer sticks
• Bucket or cute pot to put it in
• Dry floral foam to fit down into bucket
• Pipe cleaners or wire
• Tape or glue dots
• Something cute to go in the center. I found cute little flowers in the scrapbook section at the craft store.
• Crinkle paper to fill the bucket

How to Make a Money Bouquet:

Fold each of your flowers. Then, cut scrapbook paper to the size of a dollar bill and fold it in the same way you did with the dollar bills to make some scrapbook paper flowers as well.

Attach each one to a skewer stick with a pipe cleaner and add a little flower accent to the center.

If you’d like to add some butterflies, use this tutorial to fold them. I used pipe cleaners to add little antenna as well.

Here’s a close up of all of it:

You can also just cut some flat flowers out of paper if you want to add accents.

Once you’ve got it all ready, start sticking the flowers and butterflies down into the bucket with the dry floral foam in it.

Then add the little crinkle paper around the bottom (you can add some of this at the beginning and then fill the rest of the way at the end if you want).

So cute. So perfect. This is going to make the best gift ever!

Really anything kitchen friendly will do. It would be helpful to look at the bride and groom’s registry and then choose things from that.

What do you do when one of your favorite nieces announces she is getting married?  If you are me, you start to plan a bridal shower!! And if you’re throwing a super fun bridal shower, you’ve got to have a fabulous bridal shower gift to go with it right?

I love this towel cake because it’s creative and cute and something she will actually use-everyone needs towels and utensils and you can even pick things straight from her registry. Plus, this DIY bridal shower gift looks great as part of your bridal shower decorations (makes a great centerpiece), AND I’ve got a game that you can play with it during the shower as well!

Isn’t it so cute?! You can do it in any color and you can customize it so that it’s the perfect wedding gift for the bride.

Towel Cake:

This turned out so amazing and was fun to put together.  I even found a fun way to use it for one of the bridal shower games. Check this game out!

DIY Bridal Shower Gift Idea:

Supplies Needed For the Basic Towel Cake:

• 4 Bath Towels
• 4 Hand Towels
• 2-3 Wash Clothes
• Ribbon

Supplies Needed For the Towel Cake Embellishments:

• Apron
• Any Kitchen Utensils
• Spoons
• Spatulas
• Ice Cream Scoops
• Ladles
• Can Opener
• You Can Get Super Creative With This Part!!

How to Make a Towel Cake:

The bottom layer will be the largest and you will use the bath towels for that layer. The middle layer will be the hand towels. The top layer will be the wash clothes. Start by folding the towels in thirds and laying them out flat. Start rolling one towel at a time, linking the towels together at the ends. Make sure to start rolling the next towel into the roll as you come to the end (see picture below).

Once your 4 towels are rolled together you will hold them in place by tying a ribbon around the middle of the bundle.  Tie a knot at the back of the towel roll.  Repeat this step for the top and middle layers.

For the top layer, gather a few of the utensils and bundle them together.  Once they are arranged the way you like, start wrapping your washcloths (also folded in thirds) around the bottom of the utensils.  Wrap 2-3 washcloths around until you get the desired width for the top layer. Finish it off by tying a ribbon around it.

Doesn’t this make a fantastic towel cake topper?

Stack the layers on top of each other and start adding your embellishments to the cake. Simply push the items in between the towels until they are sturdy.

We recently had a mutual friend get married and wanted to go in together on a fun wedding gift for her. We’ll tell you right now that we can walk through Target together and literally have our minds explode with creative wedding gifts and ideas, so it was a little bit tricky to figure out what to choose, but we love how this turned out.

We put together a Cook Up Some Love wedding present with fun things for the kitchen and a cute tag and packaged it all together. It’s so simple but it’s something the bride and groom will really love and actually use. You can pick things straight off the registry so you’re sure they will love it.
