A Peek at the Fun: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and it should smell like it too. With this Christmas potpourri your home will smell amazing and get you in the Christmas spirit.
Every Christmas we have some sweet neighbors that bring us their homemade Christmas potpourri. I look forward to it every year because it makes my house smell like Christmas. Cinnamon is probably my all time favorite scent to have in my home and there is plenty of yummy cinnamon goodness in this Christmas potpourri.
So whether you plan to make it to use yourself or you plan to give it away, this Christmas stovetop potpourri is a perfect addition to the holidays.
Christmas Potpourri:
If you haven’t ever tried cooking this, I promise you will love it! I make sure to have some going on the stovetop every Christmas morning because it’s seriously the best! And it’s really so simple to make. Here’s a list of possible items to add to your potpourri.
Ingredients for Christmas Potpourri:
- 1/2 Orange (Sliced)
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 TBS Cloves
- 1/2 Cup Cranberries
- 1 Rosemary Sprig (Optional)
- 2 Bay Leaves (Optional)
- 1/2 Lemon or Lime (Optional)
I don’t always include everything on this list. I usually just use what I have on hand. You will definitely want the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and citrus. The rest of the ingredients add color and a little different scent.
If you are making this for yourself, simply add the ingredients to a pot with several cups of water. Bring the water to a boil and then turn down keeping it on low. Make sure you have enough water in the pot at all times. You can just keep filling your pot with water. This potpourri will last for several days, just keep adding water.
If you plan to make this to give away as a gift, combine the ingredients in a cellophane bag. This will last several days in the refrigerator. And to make your life easier, I have this cute tag ready for you to print and add to your Christmas potpourri.
Here are the tags for you to use. You can save them to your computer and size how you want, the print, or we have a PDF with some that are ready to print.
I promise this will quickly become a new holiday favorite.
Have FUN adding a yummy scent to your holiday.
