This couldn’t be simpler to do and will ensure a gift that dad will keep forever. Handprint gifts are popular because they capture time letting us hold on to a moment when our children aren’t grown. Adding the handprints to a meaningful book about fathers gives a special gift that dad and kids can enjoy together.

Step 1:

Start with the perfect book you know dad will love. There are so many wonderful books about how important our fathers are to us, you simply need to pick your favorite. I have a couple of my favorites listed for you here.

Step 2-

Using any color acrylic paint and a paint brush (I used a sponge tip paint brush), paint your child’s hand. Make sure the hand is completely covered.

Place the painted hand flat on the desired page in the book. The back of the book is usually the best place to do this because it has blank pages.

Step 3- Write the child’s name by their handprint. Make sure to include their age or the date so you can always remember when you captured this moment in time.
