You guys! January and February Just. Get. Us. Down! Does that happen to you? It’s so cold and so dreary and so slow paced after the Fall and Winter holidays and it can just be so very gloomy. Sigh. We have both been struggling to find bright spots in the gloom, so when a friend had a birthday, and she’s also someone who loves sunshine AND loves to travel, we decided we needed a very bright and cheerful gift for her. And seriously? What’s more cheerful than a pineapple people?!
How could you not smile when you look at that? So bright and cheerful and who doesn’t love a cute pineapple! Especially when it’s filled with fun birthday treats!
We also thought you could use it for a thank you gift for a teacher or for anyone you need to say thanks to!
This is so easy to make and you can tweak it for your recipient! Fill it with things she’ll love!
Pineapple Gift Idea:
To make this you’ll need a jar to fill. We used a quart size jar, but really, use whatever works for you!
Ideas to Fill the Jar With:
Fill the jar with all things yellow! Here are some ideas:
- Lip Gloss
- Nail Polish
- Note Pads
- Pens or Pencils
- Hair Accessories
- Stuffed Animals
What else would you fill it with?
Now to add the green top, punch a hole in the lid of your jar (we used nails and a hammer to make a hole about nickel size). Then bunch up your tissue paper and pull it through. You can cut off the underside excess:
We have two tags for you to use-whether for a birthday or as a thank you!
Here are the tags for you to use. You can right click and save to your computer then open in a program like Pages or Word and size how you want, or here’s a page that has some on it ready to print:
Now seriously-those of you living in Sunny SoCal or other warm and sunny places in the world, send us some warmth and sunshine! We are dying here!!!
Have FUN giving this gift!
